Synopsis

 

Levittown, 1960.  Eight-year-old Larry Delaney is sent along to the wake of his father’s best friend, in hopes he might prevent his father from drinking.  Larry’s father, Mick, will not be deterred from enjoying a cold beer, however, despite the presence of his young son.  Just as it seems that Mick will indeed get his way, Larry derails his father’s plans by drinking the beer while his father’s back is turned.  The results of Larry’s actions teach Mick a difficult lesson.
